Save the date for Association events

The date for the Leader 411 event has been changed to Nov. 12 and it will take place at Herndon United Methodist Church at 701 Bennett St.

More information regarding Time, Room Number and Event specifics will be provided as they become available.

Girl Scouts and the Dominion Trail Mix

This looks like it’s going to be a great event:

The Girl Scout Council of the Nation’s Capital and Dominion Virginia Power team-up for the Dominion Trail Mix Day Saturday, September 3, 2011,  from 7:30 am to 5:00 pm. To register and for more details visit: http://dominiontrailmix.com/.

  • Hail the Trail7:30 am -10:30 am, a trail beautification activity on the W&O Trail.
    There will be 6-8 points of the 45-mile trail designated for clean-up.
  • The Great Skedaddle, 10:30 am -12:00 pm, a three-mile run/walk/bike, starting at Orbital corporate campus and ending at Farmwell Station Middle School.
  • Final Trail Fest, 12:00 pm-5:00 pm, at Farmwell Station Middle School, with local vendors, food and entertainment.

Many of the activities at the Dominion Trail Mix-are free to the public. The Great Skedaddle–5K Run/Walk and 10 mile bike have a registration fee. Girl Scouts will receive a special discount to participate in the Great Skedaddle of 15% off the price of the race. To receive the discount please use promo code gwsafriends.

Fairfax County Parks badge programs

Fairfax County Park Authority offers a variety of Girl Scout badge programs and new this year are Journey programs.

Make the World a Better Place
Oct. 3 3-4 p.m. Sully Historic Site

Using Resources Wisely
