Early Bird Registration
Early Bird is the opportunity for girls and adults to register in the spring for the following Girl Scout year.
The GSUSA membership year runs from October 1, 2011 through September 30, 2012. The typical “troop year” begins in September and usually wraps up in late May or early June. For many families, the fall is chaotic as they adjust to the new school year. So, GSCNC provides the opportunity for girls and adults to register for the next Girl Scout year before troops take the summer “off”.
Why Early Bird? Troops and even service units are able to focus on girl programming from their very first fall meetings. Leaders and service unit registrars have one less form to process in the fall. Service units have time to develop fall recruitment strategies to fill openings for leaders and troops. Girls and troops have a chance to receive incentives:
Early Bird Patch is Rockin’ in 2011
Girls may earn a patch or a rocker if they Early Bird register by June 10, 2011 using our new online registration system.
If a girl received a patch for the 2010-2011 year, she is eligible to receive a rocker.
If a girl did not receive a patch for the 2010-2011 year, she may receive a patch this year.
Girls may receive either an Early Bird patch or rocker, but not both in the same year. Leaders will request the patches and rockers through survey monkey at: https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/EarlyBirdIncentives.
Patches will be given directly to the Troop Leaders.
